Beards, Bingo and blue hair?

So we are now going on about our 5th or 6th week in Antarctica and have really gotten into a great groove. We are adjusting to the work schedule so that we now actually have some energy outside of the workday.

Beard Competition - I (Mike, not Andrea) have entered into a beard growing competition. I am expecting to win without trouble. While I may not have the density of hair that some DeStefano's seem to possess, I still have hair on the top of my head (which is good for a Rudolph) and if I don't shave for two months, I imagine that I will at least be able to look sort of monkeylike. Judging is on Jan 1 - I will be looking for tonics and ideas to win this thing.

Bingo - Both Andrea and I won at bingo the other day. We both won random little things that are nice for traveling and gift certificates. The funny thing about the gift certificates is that there is no where to spend them while we are down here...oh well.

Blue hair - maybe? We will keep you posted.

Sean,

I am glad that you enjoyed these photos - we also thought that they were awesome. I am sure that by the time we leave we will also have taken some great photos, but until then we will just steal from other people.

Let the class know that I actually did a forces on an inclined plane problem, with coefficients of friction and everything, a week or two ago, to solve a problem we were having down here. Imagine that, the stuff actually applies somewhere outside of Heritage. I also was thinking about Tacoma Narrows Day as I had a 9,000 lb load on a forklift bouncing all over the place.

Once you guys get to pressure and fluids, holy cow there will be a lot to talk about...

ps - for non-physics people, y'all are the nerds not us.
