We are on a quick lunch break from our orientations before we fly off to Antarctica. If all goes as planned and the weather cooperates, we will be flying to Antarctica Saturday morning. Apparently, it is also very likely that the trip will delayed by a day or two depending on the weather. I guess the weather is extreme in Antarctica - I wish they would have warned us of this.
To get here we had a long trip. It took about 24 hours to get from Denver to New Zealand. Once we got to the airport and cleared customs, we went immediately to try on our cold weather gear. We both received about 35 pounds of clothing - hopefully it will work.
