Long time no post

So the original idea was to update this blog every week, well that hasn't happened.  I think our sleep schedule gets in the way.  We have gotten into the habit going to bed at 8 pm shortly after Rebecca.  Awesome.

About three weeks ago my grandmother, aunt and uncle came down for a 10 day visit.  It was really awesome to see my 91 year old grandma rocking it in Costa Rica.  We went to Tabacon Hot Springs, one of the most beautiful places ever.  It was super luxury and super fun.  They also took Rebecca out of school one day and went on the Rainforest Aerial Tram.  It is a chairlift that takes you through the rain forest canopy.  They didn't really see any cool animals but it is still just an incredible thing to fly through the rain forest.

It was really fun to have them out.  The best part of course was being able to spend time with family.  I was reflecting the other day that on this journey we are able to be more connected than any other past overseas adventure because we have a local American phone number and the internet to skype and email.  That part is nice, but it still doesn't replace being so far away from many of the people we love.  After three months of being gone we were ready for a big heaping serving of family.  Our sweet visitors even brought some fun things to help restock us on things we missed from the good 'ole USA!

On the bright side of being away we really are building a great community of people we love down here and hope they will stay in our lives wherever we go.  We have started a small cooking club with people from work that gets together and tries new themes of food and new dishes.  We cook, gorge, and then play dominoes.  Good, clean fun!  We also feel like a part of our landlord's family. Even if you just have five minutes with them you will feel uplifted and full of positive energy. They are full of love, charity, joy, and ENERGY!  We speak a mix of English and Spanish and Spanglish with both of these groups which is always fun too.
