In Transit...

We are in the airport in Tokyo waiting for our flight to Korea. We should arrive in Korea by 9 pm but then we will have a train ride for about 6 hours which will take us down to Busan. If we catch the train, we should be met at the train station by Joey and Suzy (or one of them) at 4 am. This is after leaving at 7 am this morning - with time changes this is comes out to be a whole lot of traveling. It will be worth it.

If we are feeling spry (or at least not comatose), we will be heading to a mountain with Joey, Suzy and one of their Korean friends. We will let you know about these adventures as they unfold.

In the meantime, Hawaii. We had about 9 days in Hawaii, a few more days than we had planned (thanks to Andrea`s respiratory infection fun). We started off in Kauai, got rained off the island and went back to Waikiki. We spent the rest of our time there. All of our grand plans were trampled on by the weather.

Mike did go "extreme parasailing" with Rene and had a great time. The extreme part is that they dip you in the water and then drag you around through the water during the trip. It was definitely the best parasailing Mike has ever done. We also had a good day of snorkeling with about 8 million other people at Huanama Bay. Despite the crowd we saw some really cool fish, some turtles from up above on a lookout, and many mongoose. Andrea was really excited about the mongoose because they aren`t supposed to be there. They were brought in to kill the rats, but it turns out that they are diurnal while rats are nocturnal so they Do not cross paths (at least that is what one guy said). As a result, they just kill the birds, like the endangered nene goose, instead of the rats compounding the problem.

Aloha and mahalo!
