Vacation, not adventure

Our school is on a US calendar but it is modified a bit to fit the traditional Costa Rica school calendar.  The result is that we begin earlier in August and get out in the middle of June but we have an awesome 5 week break at Christmas.  We are in the last weekend of this break.

It has been awesome.  We went back to Denver for 3 weeks.  For 10 days of that trip to Colorado, some of our friends from Costa Rica came to visit.  It was beautiful to see Colorado through a new lens.  Two of them had never seen snow before...amazing how fun it was to watch them see snow for the first time.  We had an amazing trip with them and also had a wonderful visit with our family and friends in Colorado.

When we got back to CR, we had two days and then left for a trip to Northwest Costa Rica.

Rincon de La Vieja - A volcanic area of Costa Rica with some awesome hot springs (we all took a mud bath) and some hikes.  Rebecca was not fond of the hikes but she did them...one to a waterfall and one to some boiling mud pits.  Our friends Brett and Maura would have loved it.

Playa Potrero/Flamingo - We spent a week at language school in the morning and adventuring in the afternoon.  We went to a a few different beaches, spent a lot of time in the pool at the apartment we rented and had an awesome trip.  It was really fun to be on vacation.

The quote of the trip came from Rebecca...when we were headed out to make the drive to Guanacaste (5 hours).  We said something like 'lets go on our adventure.'  She looked at us in disgust and said "Don't say adventure, I don't want to go on an adventure, I want to go on vacation."

We will put up pictures soon.
